It's Freezing, It's Monday, It's Time for a Video - (28-02-2011)

Brrr! It's cold in here! (there must be some Flames in the atmosphere?)

Yes, it's true -- the weather has officially frozen my brain cells and reduced me to singing ripped off lines from the movie "Bring It On".  So rather than further embarrassing myself by spewing forth nonsensical rhymes, I thought I'd share a cute video that I stumbled across on YouTube today.

But first, I need to do what us Canadians do best. Talk. About. The. Weather.

Alas, we're really never happy with what Mother Nature doles out. "This blizzard is ridiculous!" quickly turns into "Is it hot enough for ya today?"  And to make matters worse, I almost hate sharing the following photos of today's weather Calgary, for fear of perpetuating the stereotype that Canada is also cold and snowy.  But this is the reality for today: -37 degrees Celsius with the wind chill and an abundance of snow creating whiteout conditions.

Reading my blog from a warm, sunny, tropical location? Here's what you're missing out on:

Yeah. Brutal, I know.  While looking for parody videos of a variety of music videos today, I came across this non-viral gem created by 2 youngsters entitled "Canadian Boys".  Enjoy!

Happy Monday! Vanessa

A classroom educator for 10 years, I’m now thrilled to be working full time training teachers and helping them integrate technology into their classrooms.

Originally from Calgary, I’m thrilled to be living and working in British Columbia and starting to get to know the fabulous educators in my new province.

I fully confess that I am a tech-geek, and thus always brought technology into the classroom with my students. As soon as I got my hands on my first SMART product – I was a convert – and never taught without one again! I was fortunate to be part of several technical trials with SMART – including the SMART Table, which I enjoyed using primarily with my Grade One students.

I spent some time as an Education Technology Consultant and developed my passion for bringing technology into the hands of kids & helping teachers to maximize the tech tools within their schools.

I also love sports, movies and am a classically trained singer.
