Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder - (28-10-2010)

Whew! Have I been on a whirlwind SMART Board pd tour or what! Lethbridge, Red Deer, Calgary, Saskatoon, Wadena, North Battleford, yada, yada, yada.  And I'm not even CLOSE to being done for the next 6 weeks -- still have commitments in Regina, Victoria, Vancouver, Medicine Hat, Edmonton and a million other places to head to.

Have I mentioned how much I love my job :) I get to talk about education, pedagogy and fun (but educational) ways to utilize various SMART products in every classroom from K-12.  How cool is that?

But alas, with all my travels, I have been *ahem* slacking a bit on my blog.  Miss me? I've heard that absence makes the heart grow fonder, so my loyal readers must just LOVE me by now!! lol

So to keep this site from getting stale until I can sit down and write a proper post, here are two cartoons for your viewing pleasure.

View them and discuss. ;)

Once again, thanks to the awesome people at Huck/Konopacki Labor Cartoons for giving me permission to use this excellent cartoon on my blog!

Don't worry! I'll be back sometime tomorrow night with a Fresh Look Fridays post :)

Thanks! It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I was smart enough to book a bit of "catch up" time in the office here and there over the next 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll have a bit more time for my blog at that point!

Sounds like you're extremely busy. Thanks for the cartoons - merit pay is a contentious issue indeed. Great to bring a bit of honest humour to it. Enjoy your travels.

A classroom educator for 10 years, I’m now thrilled to be working full time training teachers and helping them integrate technology into their classrooms.

Originally from Calgary, I’m thrilled to be living and working in British Columbia and starting to get to know the fabulous educators in my new province.

I fully confess that I am a tech-geek, and thus always brought technology into the classroom with my students. As soon as I got my hands on my first SMART product – I was a convert – and never taught without one again! I was fortunate to be part of several technical trials with SMART – including the SMART Table, which I enjoyed using primarily with my Grade One students.

I spent some time as an Education Technology Consultant and developed my passion for bringing technology into the hands of kids & helping teachers to maximize the tech tools within their schools.

I also love sports, movies and am a classically trained singer.
